Once a module or webinar recording is released and available in the course, students will have access to it until the end of the 12-week course. Each week, two models will be released, so the 12 modules will be released at the halfway 6-week point of the course. After that, students will have the remaining six weeks to catch up on any modules they haven't taken yet, participate in the two remaining monthly live office hours webinars, and review video lessons and quizzes as much as they like.

Julie joined Costello Property Management in 2007 as a part-time leasing agent. She quickly moved from that position to a full-time property manager overseeing several properties within CPM's tax credit and HOME-funded portfolio. In addition to managing her properties, from 2008-2010 she trained new property managers in the field. At the end of 2010, she was promoted to Regional Manager. This position gave her a new level of experience and knowledge in affordable housing programs. Julie took a hiatus from CPM to finish her education as a paralegal and worked in the legal field before returning to CPM in 2018 as a Regional Manager. In the fall of 2019, she followed her passion and moved to the Compliance Department as a file auditor and trainer.

Julie is a licensed property manager in the state of South Dakota. Her years of onsite and regional management have given her extensive experience in tax credit, HOME, and other affordable housing programs. Julie has a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal.

Scott Michael Dunn

With over three decades of experience in all phases of affordable housing, Scott Michael enjoys both training others and designing systems to ensure regulatory compliance. 

He has overseen teams that monitored compliance with HUD, RD, tax credit, and HOME rules for federal, state, and private owner entities. 

He has a particular passion for the Low Income Housing Tax Credit and has enjoyed working directly with over two-thirds of the state tax credit housing finance agencies to provide consulting, compliance monitoring, or training services. 

After 11 years of growing the consulting firm Zeffert & Associates in St. Louis, Scott Michael returned to his roots in the upper Midwest to join the executive team of Costello Property Management (CPM) as their Director of Policy. In 2017, he joined the ownership team of Costello Compliance, which he the company he helped found 16 years before. 

NEW FEATURE! The course system has a built-in meeting room. Both links to the live sessions and recordings afterward are super-conveniently accessed directly from the Course. You can participate through your internet browser. You will only need internet access and a microphone or webcam, depending on how you want to participate in the discussion. 

Nope! Students can participate through chat, audio, on video, or just listen in. Because of the semi-formal nature of the sessions, even many of our shyer participants have joined in video discussion after all. 

The course will begin the specific week advertised. The first module of the on-demand portion will be released that Tuesday morning and the second on Thursday. This will be a "cohort-based" training, in that everyone will start at the same time and move through the course on the same semi-weekly pattern. Once semi-weekly modules are unlocked by passing that week's 5-question "Knowledge Check" quiz, students can revisit all past modules as much as they like until the end of the course.  Students can complete modules on their preferred schedule (such as doing more than one module at a time if necessary to catch up), but following along within each week if possible, allows all to be on the same page for the live presentations and Q&As. 

• Successful completion of the online live proctored HCCP Exam ($204 fee & $129 for retakes.)
• Minimum of two years experience in the LIHTC industry by graduation. Those who fail to meet this requirement at the time of passing the exam may consider themselves an HCCP-Candidate until reaching two years of experience.
• A total of 10 hours of LIHTC training. The hybrid Achieve LIHTC Success: LIHTC Comprehensive course provides this. 
• Payment of the first year's $175 annual designation fee. Note: this is a separate fee from the exam fee and will only be applicable for those who pass the exam.
• Adherence to the HCCP Code of Ethics.

Technically, anyone can take the exam, but getting the full designation requires two years of experience in the tax credit industry. You can take it any time, but we strongly recommend that you have the greatest chance for success if you have at least a year of experience before sitting for the exam.

If a student passes the exam before they meet the experience requirement, they will be an HCCP Candidate until they have the experience needed for the full designation. During that time, while not being able to claim the status of full HCCP, they will receive all of the benefits of designation membership.
